A New Arrival

Announcing the arrival of our newest Little Brother here at the Yankee Homestead…we’re so thankful for this new blessing!

My C-section was scheduled for Tuesday morning, May 27th, bright and early, but Baby Brother made his grand debut in the wee hours of the morning on Monday, May 26th instead.  Happy Memorial Day to us!

Baby Brother arrived healthy and strong, weighing in at 8 lbs, 15 ounces and 22 inches long.  He is doing great–nursing like a champ and sleeping well.  We’ve had help from my parents, and Mr. Native Texan is taking good care of our newly expanded family.  So far, so good!

Coming Soon…

If you read this recent post in which I shared my thoughts and misgivings about the upcoming surgery: So Much for Lamaze: A Natural Mama’s Thoughts on Having a C-Section, you might be interested to hear my thoughts from this side of the whole experience.

I’ve got lots to share in the days ahead: tips for a “natural C-section”, essential oils for post-partum, Real Food freezer cooking, more “nesting” projects that didn’t make it onto the blog before Baby Brother’s arrival, and more.

So stay tuned!  I may not get to share as much or as quickly as I’d like to–I want to be sure to ease back into a new normal around here–but I’ll continue to post as I’m able.

I’m thankful for your prayers and well wishes as our Yankee Homestead crew increases! 🙂

Congratulations! I must say, I like Mr. Native Texan’s influence on Brother 2’s clothing attire. As a native Texan myself, we are loyal Ranger’s fans!
